One of my favourite parts of my photography process is when I get to ask my clients deep questions about their lives. So many of my clients are incredibly wise, creative and brave. There stories impact my life in such profound ways.
For years I dreamed about a way to share these intimate and meaningful conversations with a larger audience.
And today I am excited to share that I started a new podcast that will do exactly that.
The podcast is called “Portrait And A Pod”. Simple right?!
Here’s how this podcast came to be:
On Thursday my friend Dan Hashemi shared a concept for a podcast with me, that he thought was a really cool intersection of my skills and passions.
On Friday I let resistance fully shut down the new podcast idea.
On Saturday I meditated and realized my resistance was only because I got hurt in the past with a previous podcast idea that I thought would take off and never did.
Later on Saturday I got a super clear download about this new podcast idea, with a clear vision of who could help me bring it to life. So I contacted my friend Brandon Ferguson and sent him a 5 minute whatsapp voicenote, where I shared my vision.
On Tuesday Brandon and I jumped on a Zoom to chat about the idea and see if he wanted to help me bring it to life.
On Thursday (today) we filmed and recorded the pilot for the podcast.
I am in shock how fast this project came to life.
Sometimes when things are flowing you just gotta ride the wave.
Instead of sitting around and waiting, I meditated, got a clear message from my heart and I took immediate action to set things in motion.
Important to note a few things.
I did not feel ready.
I did not feel certain.
I had lots of fear and still do.
Uncertainty and fear are par for the course when we are at the beginning of a new idea. I keep reminding myself of this, and it’s helping.
