Hello Artists,
Happy Lion’s Gate Portal weekend to you. As some of you already know we are currently in the midst of a very powerful astrological event called the Lion’s Gate Portal.
It happens for 2 weeks every summer and for the past 2 summers it has radically transformed my life. I want to share more about this impact, but honestly I am not ready to tell those stories yet. Maybe next summer.
For now, here’s a bit more about the portal:
I have a very special guided meditation dedicated to the Lion’s Gate Portal below.
From my experience there is a lot of wisdom, support and guidance available during this 2 week window. Many people believe the veil between the spiritual realms and the physical realms is thin during this time and therefore we can gain a deep and sudden awakening during the portal.
Go gently and remember, if it feels overwhelming at any point you are allowed to slow down and ground the energy.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of the Lion’s Gate Portal, here are a few simple grounding practices:
Place your barefeet into the grass and take a few slow deep breaths.
Sit with your back against a tree and breathe together with the tree.
Close your eyes and connect with your heart by placing your hand on your chest.
All of us are on different journeys and we are allowed to go slow.
Listen to your body and heart and follow the pace and path that serves you best.
A Song That Moved Me:
I share a lot of calm, gentle songs with our community. Songs that soothe and calm my nervous system are often playing in my own headphones. They are essential to helping me stay focused and creative.
AND…
I have another flavour that is just as important to my life and my creativity.
Music that is ENERGIZING AF!!!
I listen to this type of music at least 20% of the time. These are songs and playlists that fire me up and awaken the lion inside me.
White Sky, by Vampire Weekend is just such a song. You might not like it, it’s definitely not for everyone. But my invitation to you is to start your own playlist that is high energy for moments where you are calling in fire and lion energy.
For this week’s song that moved me (see below) I’d definitely recommend headphones and some space to move your body. If you don’t want to move your body or dance, then maybe have a listen on your next walk.
A Podcast That Moved Me:
Imagine working your butt off for 9 years and building a YouTube and social media following with over 1 million engaged followers and then one day deciding to leave it all behind.
That's exactly what Jagmeet Raina did in 2019.
No letter goodbye to his community. No explanation at all. He just signed off social media and the internet for 5 full years.
In this podcast interview with CBC Radio's Tom Powers, Jagmeet dives deep into what it's like to start from humble beginnings and work your way up to the top of YouTube and then all of a sudden walk away, only to come back with a new TV show and a deeper sense of who he really was.
I think this podcast will speak to anyone that is feeling the pressures of social media and could use an inspiring story of someone with clear boundaries and a commitment to their own well-being, above any sort of pursuit of money or fame.
Jagmeet's TV show is called Late Bloomer and he is the writer, producer and star of the show. It has already received lots of praise from critics and fans alike.
New Journaling Music Playlist:
Journaling Prompt(s):
If you took a 5 year hiatus from the internet what do you think would happen?
What would you do more of?
What would you do less of?
What would you miss?
What would become easier?
What would become impossible?
What might finally become a reality?
Have some fun.
Don’t take it too seriously and playfully explore. You might be surprised to discover something unexpected with this series of questions.
Guided Meditation:
Have a great weekend artists.
Big love,
D
