One of my goals for 2023 was to experiment with new meditation formats.
I love making 15-20 min meditations and have made over 150 so far.
These are now very much within my comfort zone.
At the beginning of this year I committed to pushing my creative edge and exploring meditation formats and styles that were unfamiliar to me.
That includes:
Sleep meditations
Bedtime story meditations
10 minute meditations
5 minute meditations
This is my first 5 minute meditation. It required a different approach.
It was more difficult than I have become accustomed to with the longer meditations.
I almost gave up.
I had to remind myself several times that this was my first attempt. I am a beginner and there is nothing wrong with that.
This is why I keep photos of myself as a child all over my workspace and home. A reminder to be gentle and go slowly. These photos are a simple tool I use to remind myself to speak to myself as if I was a child, who I want to encourage and lift up.
In the end, I had fun making this and am excited to experiment with more.
